The local business

The commercial department in Norske Shell is responsible for commercial follow-up in regards to Shell’s operated fields (Ormen Lange, Draugen, Knarr, Gaupe) and the JV Operated assets in which Shell holds equity (includes Troll, Gjøa, Kvitebjørn, Polarled etc.). Focus is on agreements governing the relationship between license partners, with the authorities and with some third parties.

Your role/scope

In this role, you will work across the department and will hence be exposed to a wide range of commercial issues. You will be supporting the business in identification/scoping and delivery of Commercial Opportunities. In addition, you will be working with team leader and team members to provide compliance and operational support for existing and new agreements.

Accountabilities:

- Plan and drive the scoping, mandating, compliance and support negotiations of new and existing commercial agreements both for Shell Operated and Joint Venture assets

- Ensure compliance with the obligations in existing agreements and identify and drive value adding opportunities within the agreements.

- Liaise with external parties, possibly including representing Norske Shell on venture commercial committees, etc.

- Leverage internal relationships to promote/ensure alignment on commercial issues in the wider business.

- Interface with the Assets, Exploration and Development teams.

- Ensure proper handover and operationalize negotiated agreements.

- Assessing existing JV arrangements, monitoring compliance & identifying value adding opportunities

What we need from you:

1) Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics/relevant technical background with strong numerical ability.

2) Commercial acumen and strong drive to support the business.

3) Delivery-focused self-starter with good communication skills. Ability to identify and develop innovative solutions.

4) Open-minded and curiously looking for opportunities to grow the business with an ability to learn to develop Contracts and Agreements.

5) Self-motivated individual, delivering high quality and timely work with excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Norwegian.
