Aker Solutions’ Software House based in Fornebu was established in 2018 as a step in Aker Solutions’ digital transformation. The main vision of the Software House is to strengthen Aker Solutions' software development capabilities and commercial software offerings, and to develop software that automates engineering and administration tasks. The Software developed is intended both for internal use in the Aker family and for external customers.

Aker Solutions’ Software House is now offering exciting summer internships starting in June 2019. You will, as a part of a team, be given a challenge and have 7 weeks (week 26- 32) to come up with a solution. We are looking for talents for the following roles: Business Analyst/ Functional Architect, UX/Product Designer and Software Developer. You’ll get the chance to become well acquainted with the Aker Solutions organization, to expand your network and to gain valuable work experience in an international environment. We can promise you it will be both challenging and fun!

Responsibilities and Tasks:

What we expect from the Business Analyst/Functional Architect intern:

• Master student with engineering/business related education
• Ability to capture and translate business needs into user stories and software features
• Ability to clarify requirements for solutions (requirements engineering) and define functional solutions (user stories)
• Ability to make solution sketches and functional solution design in collaboration with other team members
• Ability to assist in prioritizing scope by organizing weekly backlog grooming

What we expect from the UX/Product Designer intern:

• Master student with product design related education
• Ability to capture and translate functional requirements into technical requirements, architectural designs and software implementation
• Ability to ensure that the users' needs and customers' goals are met while still meeting functional and technical requirements
• Ability to ensure that any universal design requirements are met
• Ability to maintain an overview of the entire solution to ensure a good user experience

What we expect from the Software Developer intern:

• Master student with software development related education
• Ability to capture and translate functional requirements into technical requirements, architectural designs and software implementation
• Preferably technical knowledge and understanding of cloud development, e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
• Knowledge of Java and/or Python is highly relevant, knowledge of Typescript/Angular is also relevant
• Other and more generic keywords are object oriented programming, information modelling, user experience and web design, machine learning, databases and security
