The position can be done in Trondheim/Oslo or maybe even remotely. However, we are aiming that the majority of our employees will be stationed in Oslo during the next few years.
OmniMod is a startup that develops state-of-the-art automation technology within the industry of logistics. Our main product is a modular system with multiple use-cases ranging from autonomous storage to sequencing and sorting of parcels. As such, product development requires input from many different disciplines, including hardware, software, and integrated electronics.
Since the start in 2020 at NTNU, the company has had rapid growth and is now a company with international ambitions. Although the company is still young, it has already proven its technology through a partner-financed project. The main functionality is there, but much work is still to be done. Therefore, the company seeks to scale up its team in order to reach set goals and ambitions.
Omnimod’s software is a modern solution mainly written in python and c++. Many of the challenges we are trying to solve can simply not be addressed by traditional heuristic methods. As a result, AI and machine learning technologies are front and center. We rely heavily on self-learning and self-optimizing methods in our implementations. Additionally, we constantly explore new possibilities for improvement of existing solutions through application of ML techniques.
We are searching for summer interns to bolster our ranks and help us on our journey. A summer internship at OmniMod may also lead naturally to a full time position in the future.
As a software developer at Omnimod, you will have the opportunity to work with various challenges. You will be expected to be responsible for some, but not all of the following tasks:
Development, implementation, and modification of different AI procedures and algorithms for various exciting tasks, including object tracking and action planning.
Optimization of existing implementations to improve key performance metrics such as CPU and GPU usage.
Optimization of different models with respect to solution quality and performance.
Implementation of different ML solutions, using both supervised learning and unsupervised learning.
