Our company offers market-leading financial risk management applications (Prosmar Risk) and the fastest growing platform for companies to digitalize their entire bunker purchase process effectively (Prosmar Bunkering). Being a business analyst in Prosmar will expose you to the very inner financial workings of shipping companies. The companies we work with make decisions on a day-to-day basis that puts hundreds of millions of dollars on the line. For a shipping company there are two major risks: movement in the bunker prices and movement in the freight market. Our mission is to identify and communicate to our clients where the financial dangers in these exposures lie before adverse outcomes materialize.
As a business analyst, you will have the ability to challenge yourself on a multitude of different tasks from day one:
• Maintain and develop customer relationships.
• Be the bridge between our skilled development team and our clients, translating business inquiries into programmable solutions.
• Work efficiently with multiple clients at the same time and be able to maintain a high level of service under pressure.
• Using tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, and Python to analyze and visualize client data.
• Testing and documentation of existing software to help clients understand how to efficiently use our products and to ensure that all systems and programs are running correctly and effectively.
For Prosmar Risk, you will specialize in:
• Analyzing how clients use swaps, futures, and options to hedge and speculate on their physical exposure.
• Assisting C-level management in making data-driven decisions based on information available to manage their market risk.
For the Prosmar Bunkering, you will work on:
• Testing the functionality of the system and assisting the programmers in developing a userfriendly interface for our clients.
• Implementing new features and guiding clients on how to use it.
In Prosmar you will have the possibility to form your path toward what responsibilities you like: focusing on the development of our products as a product analyst or having meetings and follow-ups with the clients as a client analyst. We are looking for a graduate who is:
• Driven by accomplishing results, has high ambitions and is confident in being held accountable for your actions.
• Eager to learn and has a high work capacity.
• Strong academic results.
• Structured and detail-oriented to keep track of current and future software developments.
• Excellent at recognizing patterns, analyzing numbers and has the ability to utilize IT tools to assist our client’s decision-making.
• Able to work independently and proactively, but also as part of a team.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written. In addition, it is a bonus if you have:
• Familiarity and knowledge of basic programming and it’s syntax.
• Basic understanding of financial markets and derivatives (for Prosmar Risk).
• Knowledge from the bunker and commodity markets (for the Prosmar Bunkering).
