About the opportunity

Longship is seeking interns to join us full-time in Oslo for a minimum of 4 months in 2024/2025. The internship will be a great opportunity to learn about private equity while working closely with a team of experienced investment professionals at one of the most active and experienced private equity funds in the Norwegian lower middle market. You will play an important role in the team, taking responsibility across the investment life cycle, including the deal sourcing, investment, and value creation phases.

The internship is set to commence in August 2024. For the right candidate, we may consider starting the program at an earlier date, and we may also be supportive in giving flexibility to e.g. apply and prepare for master’s programs during the internship.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting research, valuation, and financial modelling on potential acquisition targets in the Norwegian lower middle market
• Contributing throughout the investment process, from sourcing, through due diligence, to presenting to the investment committee
• Assisting deal teams in developing our portfolio companies across a variety of sectors and geographies
• Attending meetings and discussions with investment bankers, lawyers, consultants, and prospect company management teams

Our ideal candidate

• Has completed a bachelor’s degree within economics, engineering or similar with a strong academic record
• Has experience from previous internships in investment banking, consulting, and/or private equity (prerequisite)
• Has a strong drive, excellent communication skills, a humble personality and shows great integrity
• Is a team player and has a genuine interest in business and investments
• Is fluent in Norwegian and English
• Is proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel
