Would you like to be part of the leading Leveraged Finance franchise in the Nordics working with local and international private equity funds on LBOs and other financing transactions? We are now looking for an ambitious Analyst to join our team in Oslo.

As a Nordic leader, Nordea’s Leveraged Finance unit focuses exclusively on servicing the bank’s private equity clients in a broad set of financing situations, including leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalisations and refinancings. Our team consists of 40+ professionals across the Nordics which, in close collaboration with relevant units in investment banking, is responsible for pitching, structuring, executing and ultimately distributing debt instruments to support our clients’ financing needs. We are uniquely positioned as the leading Nordic Leveraged Finance team with a product-neutral approach and our capabilities span across the full spectrum of debt solutions including bank financings, distributed loans and high yield bonds.

Leveraged Finance enables professionals to experience a steep learning curve within an inspiring pan-Nordic team coupled with continuous client facing interaction. You will be exposed to many different sectors and transaction types, and will over time learn to understand a multitude of different business models, industries and transaction structures.

As the Analyst, you will join in deal teams and take part in origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of debt transactions across a wide variety of sectors and types of debt. You will primarily be responsible for supporting our deal managers with financial analysis, preparation of relevant materials and supporting the transaction process. The role offers significant growth potential where more responsibilities are given based on performance and experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Fundamental analysis through excel based financial modelling and qualitative analysis in connection with debt transactions for LBOs, refinancings, recapitalisations and add-on financings
  • Supporting in preparation and execution of various transactions including financial modelling, peer group analysis, credit analysis, preparing pitching and marketing materials and internal financing proposals, assisting in structuring and in negotiations etc. 
  • Demonstrating profound understanding of the clients' commercial and financial considerations by suggesting appropriate and alternative solutions to address client needs
  • Staying updated on market development on products and services in order to ensure relevant advice and services to clients, and be able to concisely summarise recommendations as well as market updates both in writing and verbally to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring of our portfolio companies

We are looking for a person in process of graduating or having up to 2 years of relevant experience. Prior experience from full time internship or employment within leveraged finance, corporate finance or analytical capital market units from Nordic or London based investment banks or private equity funds is beneficial.

Desired skills, experience and education: 

  • Master’s degree or MBA in finance from a leading university or business school (or to graduate within short)
  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in investment banking (leveraged finance, corporate finance, private equity) or capital markets experience (debt capital markets, equity capital markets, credit/equity research)
  • Ability to work with high integrity and quality on demanding tasks while maintaining ability to deliver on responsibilities under pressure
  • Team oriented persona, eager to win as part of a team and proactively contribute where needed
  • You have the right mindset, attitude and motivation for working in this unit
  • Fluency in a Scandinavian language is beneficial and English (spoken and written) is required.
